Linda Sue (Miller) Collins, 61, of Sciota passed away at 6:20 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2018 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. She was born on December 16, 1956 in Carthage to James W. and Ruth A. Etter Miller. She married Donald E. Collins on November 21, 1984 in Kahoka, Missouri.

He survives. Also surviving are her mother Ruth Miller of Canton; her sister, Teresa (Rick) Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana; her daughter, Heather (Mark) Gooding of Dahinda; her son, Bradley Collins of Albany; four grandsons, Tyler Grubb, Collin Grubb, Alex Johnson and Michael Collins; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Collins and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father and two brothers, James B. Miller and David E. Miller.

Linda was the original owner of Suns Country Dinner Pail in Augusta. She also worked for a local manufacturer for 20 years. Linda became a LPN and has spent the last years working at LaHarpe Davier Nursing Home, St. Mary’s Square and Wesley Village.

She had been a member of the Augusta Fire and Rescue and Good Hope-Sciota Fire Department as an EMT. She also served several years on the Village Board of Sciota as trustee. Linda lived life to the fullest, spending as much time as she could with her family, near and far.

She had a love for the outdoors, gardening and playing on the Mississippi River, hunting mushrooms and deer. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville with Reverend Dean Reeverts officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Illinois Cancer Center.
