Obituary of Rebecca Overley Rebecca J. Parks-Overley, 76, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Marion General Hospital. Born in Marion on January 22, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Maymie (Ferguson) Zabst. She was married to Gary Lee Overley, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 14, 2007.

After Rebecca received her Master’s degree in Education, she began her career as a teacher for 28 years at St. Paul Catholic School in Marion. She then became the co-owner of Smile Station Preschool. She finished her career in Winamac, where she helped handicapped adults to live independently at the Pulaski Developmental Services.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Brian) Cowgill, Marion, and Janet Parks, St. Louis, MO; step-daughters, Tammi Peters, Indianapolis, and Randi Wade, FL; step-son, Gary Lee Overley, Jr., Bunker Hill; sisters, Maryanne Brooksher, Marion, and Libby (Ron) Campbell, Gas City; brothers-in-law, Bob Landis, Marion, and Basil Woodmansee, St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Brock Cowgill, Bo Cowgill, Jordan Bell, Kalynn (Bill Alter) Bryan, Jennifer (Adam) Smitley, Brittany (Brett) Mahlman, Matthew Cowgill, Pamela Coriale, Micah Mahlman, and Mo Mahlman; and great-grandchildren, Paisyn Alter, Nolan Smitley, Logan Coriale, Layla Coriale, Brianna Coriale, Alicia Ross, and Justice Ross. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Danny Zabst; sisters, Sylinda Landis and Suzanne Woodmansee; granddaughter, Heather Ross; and step-daughters, Terri Lee Overley and Shelli Bryan. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.

, Marion, IN. Rebecca’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019, with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.
