Obituary for Rev. Clarence Sweigart Rev. Clarence Sweigart passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the age of 89.

A native of Ephrata, PA, Clarence attended Allentown Bible School and graduated in 1952 with a BRE (Bachelor Religious Education Degree). Clarence also attended ENC (Eastern Nazarene College) for 3 years. Clarence received a District Minister License in 1959, and also received a Minister of Music License in 1969.

Clarence was Music Director in Ephrata Nazarene Church for 16 years and for 8 years in New Holland Church of the Nazarene. Clarence also preached and sang in Nursing Homes on Sunday afternoons for 15 years. Clarence was in a Men’s Trio for 3 years.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Yvonne Sweigart; son, James Sweigart; daughter, Pam Paul; one grandson, Derrick Morgan; two great grandchildren, Elias Morgan (6) and Love Morgan (3); brother, Calvin Sweigart; and sister, Edna Grube. A Celebration of Clarence’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at Marietta First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Gerald Carnes officiating. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta is handling the arrangements.
