Obituary for Rev. Norman E. McVey Jr. Rev. Norman E. McVey Jr., 86, of Columbia, Tennessee passed Sunday, Sept.

30, 2018 in Columbia, Tennessee. He was born on Feb. 24, 1932 in Lincoln, Rhode Island to Norman E. and Florence A. (Andrew) McVey.

He married on June 3, 1955 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island to Shirley L. Young, she preceded on June, 21, 2015 He was a graduate of North Kingstown High School of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. He then furthered his education at the Providence Bible Seminary for his Bachelor’s Degree and Grace Theological Seminary for his Master’s Degree. He was a pastor for 44 years serving Palestine Bible Church, Calvary Baptist Church of Booneville, First Baptist Church of Mentone, Calvary Baptist Church of Norwalk, Ohio, Wawasee Heights Baptist Church of Syracuse, and Calvary Baptist Church of Nappanee.

He served as Director of Nursing Home Ministry and Hospital Visitation. He was Director of Junior High Camp in Beechwood Lake for 5 years and served two 3 years terms on the State Pastor Board of Trustees at the Baptist Children’s Home in Valparaiso. He then retired from the ministry and moved to Augusta, GA to be near Shirley’s sisters.

Even though Norman was retired, his passion was serving the Lord. In later years he was also a member of the Pittsboro Baptist church as well. He continued teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and leading Awana.
