PENITAS – Ricardo, 75, died peacefully at his home on February 25, 2019. He was born in La Joya on February 28, 1943 to Samuel and Manuela Jackson. He was a graduate of La Joya High School and served in the US Army.

He was a fun, loving man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and a good ol’ bar-b-que. He always had endless jokes and unique sayings that everyone around him enjoyed listening to. He is preceded in death by his father Samuel, his mother Manuela, brothers Nicolas and Samuel, Jr. and one sister Maria Rita.

He is survived by his wife, Elma, son, Ricardo Jr., (Norma Alicia), daughters Patricia, Wanda (Rudy) and Chrissy. 12 grandchildren, Tiffany, Bonnie, Nicole, Samantha, Ricardo III, Lalo, Bianca, Richard, Hunter, Alexa, John Jr., Jackson Dean and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Amanda and Irma, and two brothers Leroy and Johnny Joe and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his forever companion John Bowery, Sr. and his beloved niece Sandra Dee Jackson. He will be remembered as a man whose conviction was to always welcome everyone with open arms. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Family will have a viewing on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at L&I Funeral Home, 1005 E. Expressway 83, Penitas, Texas from 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm followed by mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Penitas at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at a later date.
