Richard Hamilton Spence, 67, of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 21, 1950 he was the son of the late Herbert Hamilton and Lavirina M. (Phillips) Spence. Richard was the beloved husband of Charlotte Harris Spence, his wife of 45 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Richard H. Spence, Jr and Christopher C. Spence both of Manchester; granddaughter Hannah Wren and husband Seth of McSherrystown, PA; mother-in-law Janice Jennings Harris of Flatwoods, WV; sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-laws Keith and Cindy Livesay of Finksburg, Crystal Harris of Hanover, PA, Robert and Sherlia Harris of Flatwoods, WV, Colette Harris of Rock Cave, WV, Johnny and Cheryl Fox of Hackers Valley, WV, John and Candace Wimmer of Napier, WV, Rodney and Jane Harris of Manchester; and his loving extended family and work family. He was predeceased by his parents; son Michael A. Spence; and father-in-law John R. Harris. The family will welcome friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd.

The family will also receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 12 to 3pm at Stockert Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Dr., Flatwoods, WV, where a funeral service will be held at 3pm. Interment in High Knob Church Cemetery will be private.
