Lawson, age 71, will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 5:00 P.M.at Acadian Funeral Home. Pastor Ed Downs of the First Baptist Church of New Iberia will officiate the service. The Funeral Home will open at 4:00 P.M. and close at 6:00 P.M. Interment will be private and held at a later date.

Mr. Lawson passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama. He enjoyed playing music, singing, and crafting.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte Williams Lawson, one daughter, Sheila Migues; six sisters, Vonnie Fortner, Linda Lawson, Wonda Williams, Kezzia Craft, Iris Jacobs, and Millie Anderson; one brother John Lawson and wife Kathryn, three grandchildren Stephani Shaw, Curtis Romero and wife Sarah, and Tate Migues, two great grandchildren Harley Shaw and Layton Romero; along with a several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Wilkins, Nellie Parker Lawson, and John Lawson; one grandchild Shane Romero, one great grandchild Payton. Acadian Funeral Home of New Iberia, is in charge of arrangements.
