Leister, Richard Ray, Sr. 71, passed away, December 22, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born August 3, 1947 to the late Charles (Cuz) & Marg Leister. Rick was a retired iron worker, who loved the river and the ocean.

Boating was one of his favorite pass times. Rick was a proud member of Cravens AC, New Albany Boat Club, Masonic Lodge, a Shiner and many others. He loved to play music and sing around the campfire at the river camp.

He always wanted everyone to have a good time and never met a stranger. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and a granddaughter, Tiffany Buehner. He is survived by his wife, Sherry; daughter, Bethany Leister (Patrick Donahue); son, Richie Leister (Tracy); three grandsons, Easton Smith, Trey and Mac Leister.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from noon -8:00 p.m. at J. B. Ratterman & Sons Funerals & Family Cremation Care, 2114 W. Market Street. Funeral will be held at the funeral home,Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with entombment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Expressions of sympathy maybe given to Kosair Charities or the charity of your choice.
