DUEL – Richard (Rick) Edward Duel, age 64 of Duluth, died peacefully July 6,2018 at home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Baltimore, MD, Rick became an Eagle scout while attending Towson Catholic High School and graduated from Towson State University. Rick spent ten years as a boat captain in the Florida Keys before starting a family and taking on the role he held most dear, Dad.

After moving to Duluth, Rick built a thriving wood shop business that grew to become a pillar of the community. Throughout his life, Rick strove to help people and showed kindness to all those around him. Rick is survived by his daughter, Ashley Duel of Duluth; his son, Ricky Duel of Duluth; his mother, Norma B. Winner of Spring Hill, FL; his sisters, Barbara Duel Johnson of Baltimore, MD and Margie Duel of Little Rock, AR; his long-time love, Tammy Baun of Duluth; and the sons he treated as his own, Scott Baun and Jake Baun.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Duel and his brothers, Kevin Duel and Larry Duel.
