RICHARD’s Obituary Richard “Ricky Boy” Wuori Richard “Ricky Boy” Wuori, 65, Kettle River, died Friday, January 11, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer with his family by his side. He was born on July 7, 1953 in Moose Lake to Matt and Phyllis Wuori. He grew up in Kettle River and graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1971.

Rick moved to the Twin Cities and lived in the New Brighton area where he worked for Cenex and Land O’Lakes. For over 25 years, Rick worked as a barge attendant at Westwind until retiring in 2007 and moved to Kettle River. He was a good story teller and loved fishing, hunting, 4 wheeling and being outdoors.

Rick enjoyed annual trips up to Fall Lake north of Ely in the summer and to Lake of The Woods in the winter with his special friends. He will be remembered for being laid back, kind, helpful and during his younger years a bit of a joker! Rick loved life at the hunting shack and was a member of the River Rats.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Phyllis Wuori. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his brother: Nick (Renee) Wuori of Sturgeon Lake; niece: Nichole Reimer of Apple Valley; nephew: Jeremy (Jaime) Wuori of Moose Lake; 4 great nephews; and many lifelong friends whom he loved to visit with. A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring 2019 at the River Rat’s Hunting Shack.

Ricky Boy will be inurned at West Branch Cemetery with a portion of his ashes being spread at the hunting shack which was very special to him. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
