Obituary Richard Scott, age 77, of Dalton, passed away on Sunday May 26, 2019 at his residence. He was born January 4, 1942, son of the late H. A. and Lessie Scott. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herman and Bill Scott.

Richard was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #105, F&A.M. and a Dalton High School graduate of 1960. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margie Mallett Scott; son and daughter-in-law, Ritchie and Stephanie Scott of Dalton; two precious grandsons, Cameron and Evan Scott of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Butler of Port Wentworth, GA, Wanda and Ranson Hudson of Riceville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, David and Millie Scott of Dalton; sisters-in-law, Jewell Jackson and Betty Singleton, both of Chatsworth; several nieces and nephews also survive. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Scott will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev.

Bill Walker and Rev. Darey Kittle officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Dalton Masonic Lodge #105, F&A.M. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church.
