Rick’s Obituary Rick R. Johansen, age 65 of Barryton, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at his son’s home. He was born July 21, 1953 in Rodney, the son of Robert and Adele (Erdman) Johansen. Rick graduated from Chippewa Hills High School.

He was employed for 35 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the pipeline. Rick was a Big Rapids Eagles Aerie 2535 Board Member. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing cards, and reading western novels.

Rick was a talented wood craftsman. His family was his pride and joy and he loved spending time with them. Rick will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two sons, Terry Johansen of Chippewa Lake and Tim (Kelli) Johansen of Chippewa Lake; three grandsons, Jackson, Owen, and Kyle; brother-in-law, Charlie Bonham of Chippewa Lake; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, sister Coral Bonham, and brother Kurt Johansen. A memorial gathering will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Big Rapids Eagles Aerie 2535.

The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Eagles on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses. Cremation and care entrusted to the Daggett-Gilbert Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
