Obituary for Ricky Scott Clay Ricky Scott Clay, age 60, passed away December 20, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC after a long illness. He was born in Lebanon on January 2, 1957, but resided in Rocky Point, NC for the past four years. Ricky entered military service in the U.S. Navy shortly after graduating from high school and served a long and distinguished career of well over 20 years.

He eventually retired as a Petty Officer, 1st Class. After retirement, he worked for a period of time for the federal government in the Intelligence field. Ricky is the son of Nancy L. (Abel) Clay Winklebleck, and the late Ralph H. Clay, Sr

He is survived by his siblings Ralph H. Clay, Jr. and wife Teri of Lebanon, Jody L. (Clay) Evans and husband Edward of Lebanon, Larry F. Clay of Annville, Don L. Winklebleck and wife Tabetha of Lebanon, and Daryl L. Winklebleck and wife Kathy of Lebanon, along with several nieces and nephews. Ricky is preceded in death by his step-father Donald H. Winklebleck, who was his inspiration for entering military service in the U.S. Navy. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. from the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt.

72 & Camp Meeting Rd. , Jonestown. A viewing will take place one hour prior to the service.

A procession will form on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and then proceed to Indiantown Gap National Cemetery for interment with military honors. Because Ricky was a staunch advocate for the proper treatment of fellow veterans, it is requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in memory of Ricky Scott Clay to the Wounded Warriors Network, Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
