Robert “Bobby” Murphy, 84, of Magnolia, AR passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center. Bobby was born on December 21, 1934 in Murfreesboro, AR to the late Arthur Jackson and Irma Lou Murphy. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church and the Men’s Prayer Group.

He served his country in the United State Army and United States National Guard. He also retired from Southern Arkansas University. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ernestine Murphy; and brother Jack Murphy.

He is survived by his sons, Paul Murphy and wife Kerry of North Little Rock, AR and Bobby Murphy and Christy Otwell of Magnolia, AR; daughter Elizabeth Murphy of North Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Emery Murphy, Theodore Murphy, Amber Murphy, Miranda Murphy, Adam Murphy, Sam Murphy, Christian Murphy, DeVaughn Gales, Kassidy Gales, and Braeden Gales; great grandchild Margo Hutchison; brother Arthur David Murphy and wife Lana of Texarkana, TX; sister Irma Lou Ramey and husband Claude of Hatfield, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Central Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Seabaugh and Bro.

Donnell Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
