Robert Bob Jerome Dale Jr, November 17, 1946 — February 26, 2019

Robert “Bob”‘s Obituary Robert “Bob” Jerome Dale, Jr., 72, left this world peacefully on February 26, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 17, 1946 to Robert Dale, Sr. and Mary Helen (Ziegler) Dale in Mankato, MN. Bob married the love of his life, Kathy (Olson), on May 14, 1982, and they built their life together in Mankato.

Bob graduated from Loyola High School in Mankato, MN and attended Mankato State University. He worked in the business machine industry for nearly all of his adult life and started his first business in that industry in 1981, Mankato Business Products, which he sold in 1996. He went on to start, grow, and sell other businesses, including Venture Computers, and most recently, Copier Business Solutions, which he sold to Loffler Companies in 2016.

Bob was an active member of the community. He served on the Minnesota State University Foundation Board, was on the Board of Directors for Voyager Bank, and served as Chairperson on the Board of Directors for the Mankato Area Chamber of Commerce. Bob loved to golf, run, and watch his children play sports.

He loved music, dancing, had a quick wit, and was known to always keep people laughing. Most of all, he loved his family and friends and truly cherished his time with them. He was blessed with 6 beautiful children, Lea (Jon) Erickson, Jeff (Tami) Dale, Laura (Tom) Portz, Dillon (Alyssa) Dale, Jake Dale, and Nick Dale; 8 grandchildren, Sydney, Cameron, Nick, Sarah, Jacelyn, Taylor, Afton, and Jordan; siblings, Donna (Wade) Krohn, Bill (Barb) Dale, and Cathy (Keith) McCarney; brothers-in-law, Jim Kelly and Daniel Olson; sister-in-law, Donna (Mike) Shaughnessy; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marge and Bill Olson.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Jeannie Kelly. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Northview ~ North Mankato Mortuary. Memorial Mass will be 11am, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Church in Mankato with visitation one hour prior.
