Robert Eugene Poer, 62, of North Vernon, passed away on January 1, 2019, at Majestic Health Care Center in North Vernon. Born August 14, 1956, in Seymour, Robert was the son of Gene and Mary (McIntire) Poer. Robert was a 1974 graduate of Jennings County High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College where he received his nursing degree, he was employed as a nurse for St. Vincent Jennings Hospital for 33 years.

He enjoyed listening to music, watching television, and mowing grass. Survivors include his parents, Gene and Mary Poer of North Vernon; brother Dan (Connie) Poer of Butlerville; sister, Susie (Jiles) Mullins of North Vernon; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Poer.

The funeral service for Mr. Poer will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Tim Poer officiating. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
