Obituary for Robert K. “Bob” Winning Robert K. “Bob” Winning, age 79, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on April 22, 1939 in Granville, a son of the late Kenneth Winning and Mildred Chadwick Winning. Bob was a graduate of Fort Ann High School.

He received his Bachelors Degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and completed his Masters Degree at Union College. He began his education career at Mayfield Central School. Mr. Winning then taught Mathematics in both the Junior and Senior High Schools of the Greater Amsterdam School District for over 27 years, retiring in 1995.

Bob was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church and served as the Clerk of the Session for the Church. He enjoyed bowling in Merchants League at Arterial Lanes and was a longtime fan of the Mets, Jets and Nets. He is survived by his wife Carol Seeley Winning who he married on October 17, 1964; three daughters Lorinda Overmere (Michael), Sharee Winning and Deborah O’Flaherty (Kevin), one sister Stella Mickel (Robert), one brother-in-law George Seeley (Sally); five grandchildren Kaila Troia (Anthony), Kevin Wieszchowski, Jeffrey Gritsavage, Lillian Gritsavage and Rylee Grace O’Flaherty and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one brother Lewis “Wayne” Winning. Memorial visitation for Bob will be on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Winning Residence, 399 West State Street Ext. , Gloversville.

Spring interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown at a time to be announced. Contributions in his memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, New York 12078 or to the Meco Volunteer Fire Department, 1600 State Highway, Route 29A, Gloversville, New York 12078. Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
