Sidney G. Saltsman, age 83 of Johnstown went to be with the lord on Saturday February 23, 2019 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville with his wife at his side. He was born on February 18, 1936 in Palatine a son of the late J. Azariah and Lelah Gray Saltsman. Mr. Saltsman was a 1955 graduate of Ft.

Plain High School. He was employed on the family farm for 36 years and then worked for the Eastland Dairy, he retired after working as a caretaker for local cemeteries. Sidney faithfully attended the Adirondack Baptist Church and was a member of the senior group at church.

He was also an avid bowler and bowled with different local leagues. Survivors include his wife Phyllis J. Stock Saltsman whom he married on March 22, 1964; one sister Eleanor Saltsman of St. Johnsville and many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers; John Saltsman and J. Azariah Saltsman and two sisters Florence Gaylor and Jessie Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Adirondack Baptist Church, 1431 NY-29, Gloversville, New York. Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday from 10am until 11:oo am prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
