Joseph F. Snell, age 83, of Glen, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 9, 1935 in Caroga Lake, a son of the late Albert Snell, Sr. and Albertina Schmutz Snell. Joseph honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957.

He worked for many years as a Flesher at the former Karg Brothers Tannery in Johnstown until his retirement. Mr. Snell was an avid bowler. He is survived by his wife Helen Fancher Snell who he married on February 24, 1990; his children Sue and Peter Martin, Liz and Bob Conroy, Sharon and Robert Humphrey, Diana Dwyer, Sean Dwyer, Tom and Lauren Dwyer, Maureen Goodrich and Kathy and Chris Berry, one brother Albert Snell, Jr., one sister Gertrude Passino; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Snell is predeceased by his two brothers Henry Snell and Robert Snell and one sister Carolyn Snell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
