Gwendolyn J. Klena, age 89, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, March 08, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville, with her family at her side. She was born December 12, 1929 in Gloversville a daughter of the late Russell and Frances Wright Dunham. Mrs. Klena was a graduate of Gloversville High School.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, baking, cooking, and in later years, word search puzzles. She cherished spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband Richard T. Klena Sr. whom she married on August 30, 1953; son Richard T. Klena Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Broadalbin; daughter Sandy Beatty and her husband Mike of Johnstown; sister Glenna Fremont (Don) of Gloversville; grandchildren Michael Beatty (Kristen) of Exeter, Rhode Island, Jenna Beatty Baron (Steve) of Malta; great grandchildren Carter and Mason Beatty; nieces, nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Bombard, and a brother, Russell Dunham. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown. Contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences to the family may be made online by visiting our website at www.
