Anne S. Kollar, age 96, of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Wells Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 5, 1922 in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Edward Simek and Antonia Pollacek Simek. Anne was a Class of 1940 graduate of Johnstown High School.

She worked for many years as a Glove Worker at Gates Mills and later at Conroy Gloves. Mrs. Kollar was of the Catholic faith, a communicant of the former St. Anthony’s Church. Anne enjoyed sewing, embroidery and cooking.

She is survived by her three children Barbara King-Romano of Gloversville, David J. Kollar and his wife Linda of Glen and Gabriel J. Kollar of Johnstown, one sister Mary Fiorito of Johnstown; six grandchildren Randy King (Michelle), Kimberly Bartlett (Eric), Kelly Day (Andy VanVoast), Martin Kollar (Jessica Terenzi), Matthew Kollar (Jill) and Gina Siver (Randy); twelve great grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was predeceased by her husband Gabriel S. Kollar whom she married on April 8, 1940 and whom passed on January 7, 2012 and her seven siblings. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 N. Melcher Street, Johnstown with Rev.

Matthew Wetsel officiating. Memorial visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in the Spring.
