David G. Tamulaitis, aka Dave Tam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 in upstate New York following a short illness. Born in Brooklyn on June 16, 1954, he went to Baldwin Senior High School and lived most of his life on Long Island.

For many decades he owned Dave Tam Painting Specialists, taking great pride in his crew’s workmanship on hundreds of some of Long Island’s finest homes and estates. Dave was most at home on his boat on Long Island’s waterways, and also while entertaining at his home in Seaford. With his big smile and a gregarious spirit, he was the consummate host, making sure everyone was having the best of times.

Dave loved playing his keyboards and harmonica and savored the memories of performing in his former band called The Streetfighters. Dave is survived by his loving and cherished mother, Marie Kaseta Barr of Johnstown; four siblings, Martin Tamulaitis of Johnstown; Christine Tamulaitis Auerbach of Tucson, AZ; Joan Tamulaitis Otero of Albany; Jim Tamulaitis of Northville; and an extended family of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. His beloved father, George Tamulaitis (2005), preceded him in death.

The family acknowledges the great care given to him by St. Johnsville Rehabilitation Center. A private celebration of life ceremony will be held this spring. Happy sails to you, Dave…until we meet again.
