Robert L. Bernatos, Sr., 84, passed away on January 25, 2019 at his home in Palmyra. Bob was born on November 26, 1934 to the late Ruth (Franks) and Ted Bernatos in Dover Plains, NY. Bob retired from IBM, Mechanicsburg in 1987.

Bob enjoyed operating his six Lionel trains and showing grandchildren how to run them. Bob loved bass fishing and Blue Grass/Country & Western music. He played Happy Birthday on his harmonica when family members celebrated their birthdays.

He was actively involved in youth baseball leagues in Upper Allen township, and umpired in different youth leagues. Surviving is his wife Connie of 34 years, children Robert (Denise) Bernatos, Jr., Robert Breen, Dave Bernatos, Christine Stamm and Joel (Diana) Curtis; loving grandchildren Jaime Forester, Amber Stamm, Nathan Breen, Nicole Breen, Justin Greenfield, Tony Bernatos, Tamara LaFlamme, Joelynn and Johnathan Curtis; great grandchildren Ava, Katherine, Judah, Scarlett, Fletcher and Jaclynn; brother-in-law Randy (Jeanne) Coon of Mt. Kisco, NY; nephew Douglas and niece Maddie; and beloved dogs Logan and Sasha.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Griffey. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30 at 10 a.m. at Gravel Hill U.M. Church, 131 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, PA 17078. Interment will take place in Gravel Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kreamer Funeral Home, 618 E. Main Street, Annville, PA 17003. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in memory of Bob to Robert Bernatos, Jr. at 2177 Merrimac Ave. , Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, for various charities.
