Obituary for Robert L. Gidley Robert L. Gidley a longtime Grand Ledge area resident passed away April 10, 2018. Bob was born January 26, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Lyle and Jessie Gidley. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School Class of 1961 and attended Michigan State University for 2 years.
Bob then completed an apprenticeship with the IBEW Local 665 and worked as an electrician for 37 years. Bob was a longtime faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church, enjoyed woodworking and was very actively involved in sports and the PTA when his sons were young. Bob is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Mary E. (Butler); sons, Robert D. and Joseph L.; grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Riley, Cheyenne, Cole and “adopted” granddaughter, McKenzie West.
He was preceded in death by brother, George and sister, Naomi Valencich. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge on Friday, April 13, 2018, 11:00 a.m. by The Reverend Fr. James Eisele.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-9:00 p.m. at the Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge with a scripture service at 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church.
