ROBERT’s Obituary Robert Richard Koski, 86, Moose Lake, MN died on Monday, December 10th, 2018 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born on October 7th, 1932 in Kalevala Township to Richard and Matilda (Niemi) Koski. Robert grew up and maintained the family dairy farm in Kalevala Township, after graduating from Barnum High School.

He was a dedicated 4-H Leader for several years. Robert was an active member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Kettle River, served on the Co-op store board, was a Kalevala Township clerk for over 30 years, and enjoyed working and traveling to Michigan and Minot, ND with the Kalevala Theater Group. His Finnish heritage was very important to him; even finding time to teach Finnish words to some of the nursing assistants.

Robert “Uncle Bobby” was a good uncle and friend to his nephews and their families, always interested in the children’s activities. He would host many gatherings and the annual neighborhood Christmas party. Robert was always willing to help neighbors with tasks or taking them to and from doctor’s visits.

Robert enjoyed living at Kenwood Assisted Living for 16 years and Augustana Health Care Center for 3 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth (Eino) Lund; and niece, Shirley “Dolly” Lund. Robert will be missed by his 3 nephews, Roger of Cromwell, Edwin (Patty) Lund, and Mark (Barb) Lund, both of Kettle River; their children and grandchildren, Sharry (Dale) Sabin, Sheila (David) Cartwright, Rodney (Lisa) Lund, Marie (George) Swanson, Trina (Jon) Lower, Jon (Tara) Lund, Allan (Rebekah) Lund, and Krystal (Travis) Mayne; special friends, Duane (Lucy) Mattson, and Jean LaFlash and family; many neighbors, friends, and staff of Kenwood and Augustana Care Centers.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7p.m. on Thursday, December 13th, at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and continue from 10a.m. until the 11a.m. Memorial Service on Friday, December 14th, 2018 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Moose Lake.
