Robert’s Obituary Robert Soliz passed away on December 03, 2018 at the age of 73. He was born in Tempe, Arizona to his loving parents Jesus Soliz and Manuela Nunez on January 21, 1945. A beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and now our Guardian Angel.

Robert dedicated his life to his family. He taught his children to have a firm faith in God, to be strong, loyal, respectful to others, independent and caring. He expressed every day of his life that one of his greatest joys were his children and grandchildren.

They all brought him so much pride and happiness. The memories he blessed us with will never be forgotten! Robert always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips, leaving everyone he encountered; with a bit of happiness.

As the saying goes, “he never met a stranger”, he could strike a meaningful conversation with just about anyone! Robert had many passions in life but nothing could top an ice cold beer and some conjunto music, turned up on the stereo. Sunday nights were never complete without football on the TV, Robert’s delicious barbecue on the grill, and lots of die hard shouting when just the right numbers hit the score!

A dream day for Robert was either on a pier casting a line, seeing a great boxing match, or taking a relatives money when he beat them at a game of pool. All in all, he desired to do God’s will and to help everyone that he could. The legacy of Robert’s kind spirit, passion for sports and zest for life will live on through his loving family and friends.

As he always said, “Never give up! ” Robert is preceded in death by his father Jesus Soliz; mother Manuela “Nellie” Nunez; brothers: Jesus Soliz, Jr. and Manuel Mendoza; and his sister Ercilia Areso. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 47 years Angelita Soliz; his daughters: Erica Soliz and Ercilia Soliz; his grandchildren: Kasandra Chapa, Miranda Chapa, Leeandra Chapa and Alexandra Chapa; his brothers: Ernest Soliz and Frankie Vasquez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; all who loved him dearly.

Public Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 6, at Guardian Funeral Home, Chapel A, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that evening.
