Robert Wayne Cox, Sr., age 62, of King, NC, passed away on July 23, 2018. He was born on January 6, 1956 to the late James Wayne Cox and Peggy Ann Thomas Cox. Robert was a unique individual who went beyond the call of duty to help others.

He will be missed dearly by friends, neighbors, and all who knew him. A special thanks to Wanda Bennett, Ann, and Leo for their cherished friendship. Mr. Cox is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Bryant Cox; two sons, Robert Wayne (Amanda) Cox, Jr. and Zebulan Vance Causby; a daughter, Teresa Kay (Robert) Lawson; four grandchildren, Addin Vance Causby, Hannah Paige Denton, Brett Alexander Davis, and Cannon Wayne Cox; and four sisters, Wanda Lou Weston, Betty Jean Brown, Myra Sue Hauser, and Christine Cox Pabone.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Jean Cox and Judy Ann Lunsford. A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home at 2 P.M. with Pastor Rodney Matthews officiating. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.
