Obituary of Robert Brown Robert Emerson “Bobby” Brown May 4, 1942 – May 27, 2018 Fort Montgomery, NY Robert Emerson “Bobby” Brown of Fort Montgomery, NY passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, May 27, 2018. He was 76 years old. The son of the late Madeline and Guy Brown, he was born May 4, 1942 in Amelia, VA.

He attended Boylan-Haven-Mather Academy, a private African-American boarding school in Camden, SC. He graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC in 1964 with a B.S. in Biology, from Medical College of Virginia in 1966 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy, and from Long Island University with a M.A. in Healthcare Administration. He retired as a Chief of Mental Health Services from Middletown Psychiatric Center in 1996 after 30 years of physical therapy/healthcare services with the State of New York.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of 46 years, his beloved daughter Kristin and her husband Clark Lewis Jr., and his cherished grandchildren, Noah Robert and Laila Jane. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Helen Brown, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother David Brown.

Bobby was an avid NY Yankee, NY Giant, and Army fan and he liked nothing better than watching them from the stands or from the comfort of his recliner. Although taken from us way too soon, he had a life well lived, was a man well loved, and everyone’s friend. Army-Navy tailgating and Middletown Psych get-togethers will never be the same.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 31st, with a funeral service immediately following at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.
