Robert Michael Bratton, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. He was born on December 22, 1947 in Story, Arkansas, the son of Harley William Robert “Bill” Bratton and Lucy B. Stroope Bratton. He was married for many years to the late Janie Bratton, who preceded him in death on February 14, 2018.

He was also preceded in death by his father. Robert was a proverbial renaissance man. His interests and skills varied from history to business, chemistry and renaissance festivals.

He worked for many years in business before pursuing his interest in the sciences, earning a Master’s Degree in Chemistry. He worked as a chemist for many years until his retirement from Con Agra. He also proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces.

He is survived by his mother, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Duncan and Patricia Bratton, Tim and Kaye Bratton, and Reggie Bratton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Sonjia and Dan Long, and Mona Braden, all of Hot Springs; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends. A private celebration of Robert’s life will be observed by his family at a later time. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the compassionate care given by the nurses and staff of Glenwood Nursing and Rehab and Canyon Springs Health and Rehabilitation.
