Rodney James Eckenrode, 70, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born on April 1, 1948 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Maurice E. and Elizabeth Abbey (Brunner) Eckenrode. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis “Pinky” (Bright) Eckenrode in 2002.

Rodney worked in the construction industry for most of his career, retiring from Kibbler Construction Company. Surviving him are brother, Elmer Eckenrode of Westminster; sister, Iva Krenzer of Emmitsburg; and close friends, Darlene Jones, Brenda Shaffer Toporzycki, and Eddie Foy all of Westminster. A Graveside service and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown, MD.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
