Lansang, 91, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at his home in Rock Springs, Wyoming. He was a resident of Rock Springs for 55 years and is a former resident of Denver, Colorado and Santa Rita, Pampanga, Philippines. Dr. Lansang was born on December 15, 1927 in Santa Rita, Pampanga, Philippines, the son of Jose Lansang and Trinidad R. Pineda.
He attended schools in the Republic of the Philippines. Dr. Lansang also attended medical school at St. Michaels College and Santo Thomas in the Philippines. He completed his medical internship at Seattle General in Seattle, Washington, and his residency at General Rose Hospital and Denver General Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Dr, Lansang married Clare Dower on July 23, 1960 in San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. He worked as a Radiologist for Sweetwater Memorial Hospital for 20 years until he retired in 1980. Dr. Lansang then went to work at the Lincoln Memorial Hospital as a Radiologist for the next 10 years until he retired for the second time in 1990.
He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community. Dr. Lansang was a true lover of golf (playing, teaching, and watching,) fishing, hunting, playing Mah Jongg, painting, reading, writing, singing, storytelling, and cooking. Survivors include his wife Clare Lansang of Rock Springs, Wyoming, five sons; David Lansang and wife Carline of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mark Lansang of Pocatello, Idaho, Joseph Lansang and wife Shellie of Clifton, Colorado, Francis Lansang and wife Myriam of Douglas, Wyoming, Matt Lansang of Denver, Colorado, two daughters; Suzanne Lansang of Denver, Colorado, Diane Wheeler and husband Doug of Norman, Oklahoma, one brother; Fr.
Francisco Lansang of Santa Ana, Pampanga, Philippines, six sisters; Amanda Carlos, Teresita Gomez, Lutgarda Lansang (Sister M. Pia), Ellen Lansang, Minda Lansang, Lolita Lansang, all of Manila, Philippines, fourteen grandchildren; Sean Lansang and wife Cristin, Andrew Lansang, Ashlee Lansang, Jessica England and husband Stuart, Alissa Wesley and husband Brian, Rebekah Wheeler, Timothy Lansang, Sophia Lansang, Audrey Lansang, Gabriella Lansang, Sarah Ellis and husband Justin, Brandy Wilson and husband Matt, Ryan Valdez, Zachary Valdez, twelve great-grandchildren, Rudy Lansang, Brooks Lansang, Harrison Lansang, Joey England, Carson Wesley, Grayson Wesley, Ramsie Wesley, Kamden Ellis, Hudson Ellis, Marleigh Wilson, Braden Wilson, Marek Wilson, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Carmen Lansang, Pilarita Lansang (Sister M. Josephine), three brothers; Jose Lansang, Ramonsito Lansang, Manny Lansang, son-in-law; Joseph M. DiGiorgio, great-grandson; Russell William, and one niece; Josie Carlos MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming.
A Vigil Service with Rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M., Monday, February 25, 2019 at the church. Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday one hour prior to the Rosary and again at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the Funeral Mass.
