Roger Lee Sample, 81 of Ashland died Saturday September 8, 2018. He was born December 9, 1936 in Ashland County the son of William B. and Elizabeth McQuate Sample. He was a farmer and was a member of the New Life Community Church in Ashland.

Roger had a passion for farm toys and for over 20 years, sold farm memorabilia at the Holmes County Flea Market. He is survived by his companion, Shirley Aley, and his caregiver Beth (John) Wentworth. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Donna Sample on December 14, 2012, and two brothers, Bill and Everett Sample.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday September 12, 2018 at Fickes Funeral Home in Jeromesville with Pastor Dave McNeely officiating. Burial will be in Jeromesville Cemetery where the Ashland County Color Guard will conduct military rites. Friends may call Tuesday September 11, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
