Roger Stephen Cooke, 71, of Danville, VA passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at his residence. Roger was born in Roanoke, VA on November 29, 1947 a son of the late Dewey Harman Cooke and Lois Clingenpeel Cooke Paxton. Roger retired from Lowe’s where he worked in management and was an avid fishermen and loved canoeing on the river.

On October 31, 1972 he married, Teresa Kendrick Cooke, who survives. Survivors also include his children, Doug Cooke (Beth), Jennifer C. Bagbey (Chad), Robert Burkett (Missy), Flora Freeman (Sam); two sisters, Cynthia Shackelford (Larry), Angela Robertson; two brothers, David Cooke, Jerry Cooke; eight grandchildren, a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents a son, Stephen Lillard and a brother, Ronald Dewey Cooke, predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel conducted by the Rev. Billy Hedrick. The family will receive friends following the memorial service and at other times at the residence of his daughter Jennifer Bagbey, 649 Rockwood Drive Danville, VA.
