Born February 3, 1927 in Caswell County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Pallie Marshall Mimms and LuNeva Price Mimms. She was married to the late John Henry Blackwell.

Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine Blackwell of Douglasville, GA and Neva Blackwell of Warren, MI; one son, Bobby Lewis Blackwell (Margaret) of Detroit, MI; one brother, Fred B. Mimms (LaDoris) of Wayne, MI and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Ruby R. Blackwell; one sister, Luvinia Nash; one brother, Pallic N. Mimms. Funeral services are incomplete at this time.

Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home is assisting the Blackwell family.
