Maedene Barksdale January 19, 1944 – May 09, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Maedene Parker Barksdale, 75, of 139 Wildhurst Lane, Danville, VA, passed away, Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial, Roanoke, VA. Born January 19, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Witcher Parker and Melvin Fuller Parker. She was married to the late Kenneth Lackley Barksdale.

Survivors include three daughters, Lisa King (Ralph), Anita Hodge (Anthony) and Deborah Lemons (Forest) all of Danville, VA; one son, Joel Barksdale of Danville, VA; two sisters, Inez Mendenhall and Connie C. Stewart both of Danville, VA; two brothers, Gene Parker (Mattie) and Wilbert Parker (Lorretta) both of Danville, VA and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by six sibling, Cora Miller, Catherleen Jackson, Eva Ferrell, Waverly Parker, Roy Parker and Harvey Parker. The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Lisa King, 139 Wildhurst Lane, Danville, VA.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 1 PM from Vance Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Walker, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Garden.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4-8 PM from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home. Online condolences may be submitted to www. fisherandwatkinsfuneralhome.com.
