Rose Marie (Coughlin) Schneider of Oakley, age 82, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Covenant Health Care. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Oakley. Rev.

Fr. William Gruden officiating. Private inurnment will be later.

Visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday, June 27 from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Rose was born September 25, 1935, in Flint, MI to the late Joseph and Katheryn (Flynn) Coughlin. She was a resident of Oakley most of her life.

She was united in marriage to Edward Schneider on September 11, 1954, in Chesaning. In her earlier years, Rose worked at Universal Electric, McDonalds Dairy, Tuscarora Plastics then Brass Bell Restaurant and Motel. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Oakley then St. Peter Parish in Chesaning.

Rose enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, gardening and flowers, most of all, Rose loved being a farmer’s wife and loving mother to her eight children and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are: husband, Edward; children: Patricia (Dale) Burgess of CA, Kay (Pat) Gross of St. Charles, Eugene (Betsy) Schneider, Marty (Doreen) Schneider all of Oakley, Carolyn (John) Knieper of Chesaning, Paula Schneider of Oakley, Ronda (Jack) Birchmeier of New Lothrop and Joe (Bernadette) Schneider of Oakley; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; siblings: Joan (Elmer) Schneider, Mary Lou Borton, Margie Coughlin, Theresa Butzin, Judy (Ken) Gengler, Linda Krzciok, Sandy (Tom) Schlachter, Michael (Mary) Coughlin; sisters-in-law: Carolyn (Rich) Stasa and Bertina Coughlin; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Patrick Coughlin and John Coughlin; and a brother-in-law, Gary Butzin.
