Obituary for Rose Marie Gonyea (Ogin) Rose Marie Gonyea, 70, wife of the late Leonard Gonyea, died on Monday, April 30, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Born in Pennsylvania on March 24, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Celia Stancavage Ogin and Ernest Ogin and was a graduate of Platt High School. Mrs. Gonyea retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles.

She was a parishioner of St. Laurent Church. Rose Marie loved to visit the Mohegan Sun Casino. She is survived by two daughters, Lori Keene and her husband, Michael of Bristol, Amy Gonyea of Florida and Kevin Gonyea and his wife, Beth of Florida; ten grandchildren, United States Aircrewman, Michael Francoeur and his wife, Jessica, Melissa Gonyea, Jacob Gonyea, Scott Passmore and his fiancé, Kayla Horkavy, United States Naval Mineman, Brandon Passmore, Jeffrey Gonyea, Kailee Gonyea, Xavier Heshmaty, Brianna Keene-LaFogg, Angelique Keene-LaFogg and Christian LaFogg; four great-grandchildren, Madison Shatkyvich, Dakota Francoeur, Scott (SJ) Passmore Jr and Christina Valentin; a sister, Sherry Gualano and her husband, Richard of Rocky Hill and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her great-grandson, Wyatt Ivan Passmore. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT. Burial will be in St. Laurent Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Should friends desire, contribtuions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 38 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854-2328.
