Obituary for Rose DeKoker (Root) Rose Marie DeKoker, 86, of Decatur, AL, formerly of Morocco, IN passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Decatur, AL. She was born January 16, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, to Lemuel David Root and Mary Eliza (Lowery) Root. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Wentle DeKoker; one stepson, Benny DeKoker; and one grandson, Timmy DeKoker.

She is survived by four sons: Dennis DeKoker (Marjorie), Rick DeKoker (Daphana), Mark DeKoker, and Philip DeKoker (Beth); one stepson, Roger DeKoker (Sally); two stepdaughters, Judy McGarvin and Alice Brown (Butch); one sister, Marian Hauk; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley or The Gideons International. Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10-10:30 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Rev. Hansford Smith and Pastor James DeKoker officiating.
