OBITUARY Rosemarie Palazzolo April 19, 1927 – September 10, 2018 Rosemarie (LaCava) Palazzolo, 91, wife of 56 years to the late Paul R. Palazzolo, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Middle Hospital. Rose was born on April 19, 1927 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late George and Anna LaCava. She grew up in Wethersfield, and attended and graduated from Wethersfield High School.

Rose worked at the Connecticut Gas Company until she started her family. She enjoyed a full, long, rich life, and was a woman of strong faith. She was devoted to her family, and her true colors shone through in her everyday actions as a loving wife, mother and friend.

Rose loved a good party, and could always be counted on to add life to those occasions. She made friends easily and with everyone with whom she came in contact. Outside of her family, Rose was passionate in her love for sports, especially the New York Yankees.

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Linda Walton and her husband Michael of Cromwell, and Donna Smith of Rocky Hill and son-in-law, Jay Smith of Westbrook. Rose is also survived by four grandchildren, Ashley Carigliano and her husband Christopher, Megan Lavoie and her husband Christopher, Eric Walton and Caitlin Smith and her husband Henry and three great-grandchildren, Lucas and Cali Carigliano and Jonah Lavoie. She also leaves two sisters, Julia Lombardo and Marie Burnosky, and four brothers, Anthony, George, Joseph and Carmen LaCava, as well as a large extended family of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by six brothers, Rocco, Nick, Ozzie, Frank, Peter and Louis LaCava and her sister, Ann Cirelli. Her family gives special thanks to Maia Dolidze, whose care and compassion for Rose over the past two years was a true blessing. The funeral is Friday, September 14th at 9:15 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd.

, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. The burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
