Obituary for Rosemary Nora Donner Rosemary Nora (Hellner) Donner, age 80, of Whitmore Lake, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 13, 2018. Rosemary was a lifelong resident of Northfield Township. She was born on March 11, 1938, the youngest of nine children born to John and Wilhelmenia (Maier) Hellner.
Rosemary attended St. Thomas School in Ann Arbor, graduating in the class of 1956. She married Richard Donner on May 30, 1959. Together they enjoyed fifty-seven years of marriage.
Rosemary worked many years at the Northfield Township office. She was an active member of Old St. Patrick Catholic Church belonging to the Council of Catholic Women, worked many church festivals and fish fry’s and was a lifetime member of the Northfield Township Historical Society. Rosemary enjoyed living on the lake, working in her flower beds and spending time with her friends and family.
Above all else, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four children, James of Whitmore Lake, Daniel (Michelle) of Brighton, Pamela (Bradley) Tanner of Ann Arbor and Amy of Haslett; three grandchildren, Jacob Donner and Austin and Alex Tanner; three siblings George Hellner, David Hellner and Caroline Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Richard Donner, two brothers William Hellner and Leo Hellner, three sisters, Catherine O’Neil, Anne Chamberlain and Elvera Kennard.
