Obituary for Alta Mae Williams Alta passed away on December 5, 2018 after 101 years. She was born May 5, 1917 in Sunfield, Michigan, the daughter of William and Gertrude Barnum and resided in the Ypsilanti area since 1936. She lived in Vermontville, Michigan for many years and graduated from Vermontville High School in 1935.

She was united in marriage to Royce Williams on July 18, 1936, in Angola, Indiana, he preceded her in death on May 7, 1974. To this union was born one son, Dale, of Ypsilanti. She worked at Ford Motor Co. for many years retiring in 1979.

She joined the retirees union local and enjoyed their many trips and parties. She also belonged to the B-Y Club. Alta was united in marriage to Vaughn Williams of Pinckney, MI on October 20, 1979, at the home sister in Charlotte, Michigan, they honeymooned in Hawaii.

After marriage she travelled extensively for the next ten years with her family, covering all fifty states and all but two provinces of Canada. She was preceded in death by three sisters (one also living to be 101), two brothers and her parents. She is survived by her son Dale Williams of Ypsilanti and many nieces and nephews and friends.
