Obituary for Beulah “Johnny” C. Weber Beulah “Johnny” C. Weber, age 87, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Evangelical Home of Saline. Johnny was born on March 8, 1931, in Hohenwald, Tennessee to parents Joseph and Mary Spurgeon. Johnny came to Michigan to live with her sister and obtained a position at King Seeley in Ann Arbor.
While working at King Seeley she met Fredrick “Fritz” K. Weber. Fritz and Johnny married in Angola, Indiana and settled in Ann Arbor, Michigan to raise their two children, James and Mark Weber. Johnny spent 55 years working at Weber’s Restaurant, owned and operated by her brother-in-law, Herman Weber.
Over the years, she worked many different positions, however, she was known for her wonderful bartending and waitressing skills. She looked forward to decorating Weber’s every year for the holiday season. In her spare time, she enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, embroidery, and quilting.
Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family. Beulah is survived by her children, James (Lynne) Weber of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mark (Christine) Weber of Ann Arbor, Michigan; her step-children, Janet Lindwell of Meza, AZ, Betty Weber of Tempe, AZ, and Gloria Hubbell of Brooklyn, MI; her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Alida Skelton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred “Fritz” Weber; her step-son, Fred C. Weber; and her step-daughter, Nancy Comad.
The Weber family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Evangelical Home of Saline for their warm hospitality and kindness shown to Johnny. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Evangelical Home, 440 W. Russell Street, Saline, Michigan, 48176. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Road, Ann Arbor from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm.
