Ruphene Hester Jones, 77, of Greenbriar Drive, China Grove, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Novant Health-Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. She was born, February 13, 1941 in Rowan County to the late William Hester and the late Mildred Burton Hester. Ruphene was educated in the Rowan County School System and was a graduate of Aggrey Memorial High School.

She was formerly employed with Fieldcrest Cannon. Ruphene was a member of Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church. Services will be held Monday, September 24, at Sandy Ridge AME Zion Church.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 PM with funeral services at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at church cemetery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Jones; a son, Gregory E. Jones; a sister, Elizabeth M. Burton; two brothers, Fred Hester and Jimmy Hester.

Those left to cherish fond memories include three daughters, Daphne Broadway (Alphonzo) of China Grove, Sonya R. Jones and Tyra N. Jones both of Kannapolis; four sons, William Jones (Amelia) of Mt. Pleasant, Timothy M. Jones of Kershaw, SC, Brian K. Jones of Landis, Antonio Hester (Nicole) of Kannapolis; four sisters, Mildred Chambers of Salisbury, Adriane Alsbrooks of San Diego, CA, Cathy Hester Morrison of Landis, Carla Hester Neal of Baltimore, MD; four brothers, Sonny Hester of Davidson, Bennett Hester of Kannapolis, Gary Hester and Tony Hester of Tabor, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
