Obituary for Sammy “Sam” Lamar Cochran Sammy “Sam” Lamar Cochran, age 76 of Powder Springs, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 54 ½ years, Sandra Cochran, his daughter Tracy Cochran Waldrop, his son Todd Cochran, six grandchildren, TJ Cochran, Bailey Cochran, Case Waldrop, Cole Waldrop, Tanner Cochran, Ansley Cochran, two great grandchildren, Mackenzie Cochran, & Bryleigh Cochran, his two brothers, and his ex-daughter in law Stacy Cochran. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Sam graduated from South Cobb High School in 1961, and began his career at Kennesaw finance company where he worked for 38 years until they were bought out by Citibank where he worked for five more years. He retired in 2001 and then decided to pursue a life-long dream of selling cars and started a career with Hardy Chevrolet. One of his personal greatest accomplishments was selling over 500 cars during his tenure at Hardy where he received a ring from GMC.
