Obituary for Doris Peters Whittaker Doris Whittaker, born December 7th, 1927 as Doris Eileen Peters on a farm in Bowling Green, Ohio. She grew up in a hard-working German family, and learned early, along with her other siblings, that she had to do her part in keeping things productive on the farm. She had and older sister Elda and older brother Don, and a younger brother Lloyd.

She and the rest of the family grew up in the Lutheran Church, but it wasn’t till much later in her life that she and her siblings came to truly know God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. She grew up knowing about Christ, but not KNOWING Christ. She understood that she needed to appropriate God’s offer of salvation through repentance and faith in Christ at a moment in time and submit to Him as Lord and Savior.

After this event, she progressed from a admirable and moral young wife and mother, to one who’s life began to take on the qualities of her Savior Jesus Christ. Doris was known by her sweet joyful spirit, very committed to prayer for others, very faithful in her involvement in her church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was adored by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted wife, a diligent house keeper, loved Christmas along with her husband Arnold, and a host of other exemplar qualities. She will be sorely missed, her presence and her prayers. She has left us a legacy of many wonderful and emotionally fulfilling memories!

Thank the Lord for a lady like Doris Whittaker. She is now in complete union with her Savior and in fellowship with her husband and other family and friends! In lieu of flowers, Doris was a great advocate for the safety of the unborn.
