Obituary for Frances Carnes Bruce Frances Carnes Bruce, 91, of Canton, GA, passed away on November 13, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Powder Springs, GA, with Rev. Robert Boggs officiating.

Interment will be at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Bruce is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Bruce. She is survived by her two sons, William Steven Bruce (Eduardo Nieto), of San Francisco, CA; Dr. Gregory Carnes Bruce (Stephanie), of Canton, GA; her two sister, Sarah Brown, of Marietta, GA, Martha Smith of Dallas, GA; nieces and nephews.

Frances was born in Austell, lived in Atlanta and Cobb County. She is a graduate of McEachern High School, and Brauns Business College. She worked in banking, high end retail, and as a legal secretary in Marietta.

She was a member of Wieuca, Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, and vacation bible school. She enjoyed painting and traveling. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM, prior to the service on Sunday.
