Samuel “Sammy” David Hebert of Steelville, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Washington, Missouri at the age of 60 years, 7 months and 13 days. Sammy was born August 12, 1957 in Houma, Louisiana to Elie and Bernice Hebert. On March 26, 1977 he was united in marriage to Karen Hanks in Chauvin, Louisiana and to this union three daughters were born.

Sammy was employed in Louisiana on a shrimp and oyster boat for a few years and then as a mechanic. He and his wife, Karen moved to Steelville about eleven years ago reuniting Karen with some of her family and the area she was from. He attended the Country Church in Cuba with his wife.

Sammy loved to fish, ride his motorcycle, play his guitar and sing Christian music. He loved family gatherings with a cook out. Most of all he loved his family, his children and all of his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Kennith Hebert, Lucius Hebert and infant Louis Hebert; one sister, Maxine Wilcox; sister-in-law, Elaine Hebert; two brothers-in-law, Harvey Henry and Charles Hanks. Sammy will be sadly missed by his wife of forty-one years, Karen Hebert of Steelville, MO; three daughters, Alisha Hebert, Rachel Hebert and companion, Leroy Verret and Christine Hebert and companion Rodney Chaisson all of Houma, LA; ten grandchildren, Daniella “Nelly” Acosta, Lilyana “Lily” Delgado, Ariana “Ari” Delgado, Angelica “Choonie” Acosta, Esparanza Delgado, Estrella Delgado, Alaigha “Doodle Bug” Falgout, Victoria “Tori” Falgout, Noah Hebert and Evelyn “Evie” Hebert; seven brothers, Russell Hebert and wife Betty, Rosevelt “T-Boy” Hebert; Michael Hebert and wife Marlene, Emile “EJ” Hebert and wife Joyce, Patrick Ebert and wife Audrey, Elie Hebert, Jr. and wife Pauline and Gerald Hebert and wife Debra all of Louisiana; three sisters, Barbara Crothers and husband David, Lorita Henry and Judy Gautreaux and husband Golden all of Louisiana; four brothers-in-law, Abraham Wilcox of LA, Joe Hanks of Phoenix, AZ, James Hanks, Sr. and wife Angelia of Cherryville, MO and John Hanks and wife Angelia of Louisiana; four sisters-in-law, Rhonda Hanks of Cuba, MO, Rosemarie Pacheco and husband Isdore of Houma, LA, Charlotte Bourdeaux and husband Berklin and Sylvia Mathern all of Louisiana; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The Family received friends from 12:00 Noon until service time on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO.

A Celebration of Life was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, MO with Pastor Tom Campbell officiating and Alisha Hebert reading the obituary and sharing memories. Music of “I Can’t Even Walk” was sung by Larry Bridgeman with Pastor Don Mitchell on guitar. Other music of “I Can Only Imagine” was played.

The Family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, MO.
