Obituary for Sandra “Sandy” Walter (Pichman) Sandra “Sandy” Walter, 76, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Froedtert South-Kenosha Medical Center Campus. Born in Chicago, IL, on March 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Estelle (Pichman) Zielinski and was educated in the local schools, graduating from St. Barbara Catholic High School. Sandy married Richard Walter in Chicago, IL; he preceded her in death in 1992.

Sandy was employed as a teacher’s assistant, most recently from Reuther High School from which she retired. She was a member of the Roseland Ski Club and enjoyed cooking and doing cross stitch. For a while in the 1980s, she and her husband owned and operated a candy making store in Kenosha and another in Racine.

Survivors include her two sons, Jason Walter of Kenosha and Ryan Walter of Chicago; a daughter-in-law, Taysha Walter of Chicago; a step sister, Mary Evans of Manhattan, KS; and three grandchildren, twins Avrey and Ryley, and Reese. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1st, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
