EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Scott C. Bumgarner, 86, of East Liverpool passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at East Liverpool City Hospital following a brief illness. Scott was born in West Virginia on March 30, 1932 a son of the late William and Stella (Sims) Bumgarner. Scott worked at Moffett Pest Control.
He was a simple man who was not afraid to let you know how he felt. Scott enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandkids. Scott was preceded in death by his wife Faye T. Cowdery; son Jessie Cowdery and six brothers William R., Guy, Woodrow, Eanes, Wallace and Paul Bumgarner.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters Chasity Bumgarner of East Liverpool, Jackie Cowdery of East Liverpool and Deborah Cowdery of East Liverpool; two sons Alan Kent of East Liverpool and Thomas Cowdery of Canton; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and three sons and a daughter in West Virginia. Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery of St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ will conduct a funeral service Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
