SFC Richard B. Sliger United States Army, Ret. July 30, 1947 November 4, 2018 Hereford- Richard B. Sliger, 71, of Hereford passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Canyon Vista Medical Center. Richard, a son of the late Louis and Eloise (McGee) Sliger was born in Franklin, Kentucky on July 30, 1947.

Richard was raised in the surrounding areas of Franklin, Kentucky and educated there. He served his country for 24 years with the United States Army. He retired with honor, receiving many awards and accolades for his service in the Vietnam War, Korea, Germany, and the United States.

After leaving the active Army service he worked as a civilian contractor for E.P.G. on Fort Huachuca. Later he worked at Cochise Stone until his retirement. For 18 years Richard assisted in all aspects of dog training for the Cochise County Search and Rescue team.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Sliger; two brothers, Buddy (Brenda) and Donnie; three sisters, Elvie, Sue (Charles) and Mary; many nieces and nephews; and close friends the Rice Family. Graveside services with Military Honors for Richard will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 9:00 am at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery Committal Shelter, 1300 Buffalo Soldiers Trail, Sierra Vista.
